This saddle is specifically designed as an “Open Seat” dressage saddle with a medium depth open seat with a classic square cantle. Built on our unique specifically designed laminated Beech and Spring Steel saddletree it is ideal for the wider backed horse but also features a sculptured waist to enable the thighs to drop into a comfortable and natural position; fitted with our Lovatt & Ricketts® stainless steel heavy duty dressage bars for a correct leg position.

The Cambridge offers all of the refinements of our show saddles to enable the rider to compete at the highest levels. Hand finished in the finest leathers this is a beautifully crafted saddle for the discerning rider.

The Ellipse™ Dressage saddle has become a firm favorite with riders since our first model launched over 25 years ago. A specifically designed saddletree that accommodates the broader backed horses. Featuring a hooped cut back hand crafted laminated Beech Wood and Spring Steel saddle tree, fitted with our Lovatt & Ricketts®stainless steel heavy duty dressage bars for a correct leg position. Flatter broader lamb’s wool flocked panels with an open gullet offers comfort and freedom of movement for the horse. The Ellipse™ offers all the features, sophistication and finish, that one would expect from a quality classic dressage saddle, and is available in a wide selection of sizes and tree widths; to accommodate horse and rider. Our saddles trees are manufactured in our own saddletree department using the finest laminated birch wood and reinforced with steel for strength. Each tree is specifically made for each model, designed by us and produced by our own Master saddletree makers. All of our trees conform to British Standards Institution 6635 so you can be assured of quality strength and reliability. Each and every item used in the construction of our saddles that can be, is sourced in England from the finest materials available.

The Berkeley™ Dressage Saddle 

The Berkeley™ High Performance dressage saddle incorporates all of the refinements expected in a state-of-the-art dressage saddle. Our handmade wood and spring steel saddle tree has a unique shaped pommel and swept-back points to give wither clearance and complete freedom of shoulder movement and a newly sculptured waist to allow the hips and thighs to fall naturally for a more comfortable leg position.   We have incorporated our Lovatt & Ricketts® stainless steel swing stirrup bar that eliminates any pressure on the horse that is a common problem in this area were the stirrup leathers are attached. Our stirrup bars are made of the highest quality stainless steel and crafted to be unobtrusive to the rider’s thigh.   Our panels are lined with French Calf skin and flocked with pure 100% English lamb’s wool to give a soft and supple profile that is the ultimate in comfort for your horse. Our unique quick-change billeting system is another feature on this model offering the rider the flexibility to move the front billet to two positions, this coupled with the rear billet being attached to a balancing ring; helps to achieve the perfect girth line.   The Berkeley™ is crafted in the finest hand finished English and French leathers to facilitate a “no breaking in” period, giving a wonderful close-contact feel even on the first ride.
